Our Story

In 2015, Lexie Blood had a vision to open up a color guard program at Lisa J. Mails Elementary School.  This started as an After Class Enrichment (ACE) class at the school.  An ACE class is a 6 week program for students who would like to experience something new.

60 students took this ACE program from 3:00-4:30 once a week.

In March of 2015, there was a tremendous amount of interest to generate a team.  After talking with school administrators from Lisa J. Mails Elementary, they felt that it would be a great addition to the school.  Lisa J. Mails Elementary is an art focused school in the Murrieta Valley Unified School District.

The 2015-2016 school year brought us the first team which began our legacy. Our show "The Lion King" consisted of 14 team members. They were the first elementary school in Southern California to compete in the JHAAA division for the Winterguard Association of Southern California (WGASC).  This new team took 4th place at championships, outscoring 4 other teams in their division.

Since its inaugural year, they have made a name for themselves in their community and the WGASC. 2016-2017 brought them much success with their show "Live the Magic" where they took home the gold medal in the JHAAA division.

In 2017-2018, their show "Can't Stop the Feeling" delivered a silver medal in the JHAA division. This season also blessed us with Coach Nicole, who has truly been an asset to the success and growth of this program.

This season we are competing in the JHA level for the WGASC and  have had a very successful start with their show "The Black Diamond". The future of this team and organization continues to grow. The students in this program are learning so much more than a sport. This team is a family. This program has grown to be an incredible experience for students and families alike.  Our focus is on leadership, building self-esteem, compassion, teamwork, passion and sportsmanship.

In 2019 we decided to expand our amazing guard and build a bigger family. We are thrilled to share with everyone that we are now also coaching the Warm Springs Middle School Wildcat Diamond Guard.

This year brought on a few other staff members. Jazzy Ramirez, Sidney Jones and Kaitlyn Long. Our new staff additions have helped to create very diverse performers in all areas of dance, rifle, sabre and flag.

For the 2020-2021 school year, we are excited to be offering a JV & Varsity team for the Warm Springs Middle School Wildcat Diamond Guard. Eligible students must come from the following schools:

Buchanan Elementary School - Incoming 4th & 5th graders

Alta Murrieta Elementary School - Incoming 4th & 5th graders

Warm Springs Middle School - Incoming 6th, 7th & 8th graders
